Deal

Deal: contracts read before you sign

A lease, a supplier agreement, a wholesale account or a services contract. Send it, and we send it back marked up, with a note on every change.

Most small-business contracts are written by the other side. We read yours for what it costs you if things go wrong: who pays when a delivery is late, how you get out, what you’ve promised without noticing. Then we call you to walk through the redline, and revise once after the other side replies.

What the package covers

  • A redline with a note on each change

  • A 30-minute call to go through it

  • One round of revisions after the reply

The fee

How the Deal fee works

  • What sets the fee

A flat fee for each contract up to 25 pages. A longer one, or a set of related agreements, is quoted first.

  • How you pay

    When the redline is delivered.

Not in the fee: negotiating face to face with the other side, which is quoted separately.

Questions

Before you send us a contract

What if the contract is long?

The flat fee covers contracts up to 25 pages. Longer ones, or a set of related agreements, we quote in writing before we start.

Will you negotiate with the other side?

The package covers the redline and one round of revisions. If you want us on the calls with the other side, we quote that separately.

Can you write a contract from scratch?

Yes. A standard set of terms for your customers or suppliers is a separate flat fee, quoted after the first call.

Not sure this is the right stage?

Tell us what the company is doing. We’ll name the package, or quote the work in writing.
